Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most breathtaking destinations, known for its dramatic cliffs, stunning beaches, and laid-back surf culture. If you’re looking for crystal-clear waters, incredible sunset spots, and a more relaxed vibe compared to Canggu, this is the place to be. Here’s my full guide to Uluwatu, including where to stay, and what I’d do differently next time!

Dreamsea Surf Camp Bali
• Location: Clifftop hotel with stunning sea views
• Pros: Amazing sunset views, near great beaches, yoga classes available
• Cons: Lots of stairs to reach accommodation

1. Uluwatu Temple & Sunset Kecak Fire Dance
• Cost: 50,000 IDR (~£2.60) entry + 150,000 IDR (~£7.80) for the Kecak Dance
• Time Needed: 2-3 hours
• My Experience: One of the most spectacular sunset spots in Bali
• Tip: Arrive early to get a good seat for the Kecak dance!
2. Padang Padang Beach
• Cost: 15,000 IDR (~£0.80)
• Time Needed: 2-3 hours
• My Experience: Small but beautiful beach with soft sand and clear water
• Tip: Visit early in the morning before it gets crowded
3. Suluban Beach & Uluwatu Cave
• Cost: Free
• Time Needed: 1-2 hours
• My Experience: One of Bali’s best surf beaches—even if you don’t surf, it’s a must-visit!
• Tip: Wear water shoes—some areas are rocky
4. Karang Boma Cliff (“Uluwatu Cliff”)
• Cost: 20,000 IDR (~£1)
• Time Needed: 1 hour
• My Experience: One of the best views in Uluwatu—but less touristy than Uluwatu Temple
• Tip: Go for sunset photos—absolutely stunning!

💡 Tips & Recommendations – What I Wish I Knew Before Visiting Uluwatu
Be prepared for stairs – Most beaches have steep steps down
Bring cash – Many small cafés and beach spots don’t accept cards
Sunset spots get busy – Arrive early for the best views

I’d skip the super touristy spots and explore more hidden beaches
I’d stay longer – Uluwatu deserves more than just a couple of days
I’d visit Nyang Nyang Beach – One of the less crowded beaches in Uluwatu
I’d plan my days around sunrise & sunset—it’s when Uluwatu is at its most magical

Without a doubt! Uluwatu is one of the most scenic places in Bali, perfect for beach lovers, surfers, and sunset chasers. It’s more relaxed than Canggu but still has great food, nightlife, and plenty of adventure.
